Jessa Mae Botero, IV-Divinity
In order to send better players to higher competitions, the school selected games which it had more chance of picking out qualifying athletes. One of them was Volleyball which the school undoubtedly gives any opponent a thorn in its side. What’s more, the school has been so lucky o have students who are skilled to play the game and have made it to the CVRAA already.
Students who have passion for sports didn’t miss out on the school’s annual sporting competition – the Intramurals Athletic Meet. Last July 2014, HNHS held the said activity. Instead of the usual way of grouping teams by year level, the students were divided into a barangayan system where a team is composed of students from Grade 7 till Fourth Year to further build camaraderie.
During the activity, high-spirited students from each team competed in various sports events such as basketball, soccer, chess and athletics.
Aside from sports, the search for Mr.& Ms. Intramurals 2014 was conducted which was the highlight of the occasion. Mark Anthony Tauy and Jewel Aurestila vied the title. The first place was garnered by Jireh Merin and Jera Mae Torrejos and second place by Alan Valiente and Ma. Lucille Mejasco.
